Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Biography

Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna was a former chief minister of UP. Earlier he was a congress party leader, but later joined Bharatiya Lok Dal. Post independence period he played a major role in Trade Unions also. He became the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh in the year 1973 and was forced to resign the position after 2 years. He has been honored with “Proud Past Alumni" of Allahabad University. He married twice in his life.

 
Bahuguna was born on 25 April 1919 in a small village called Bughani in the district of Pauri Garhwal in Uttarakhand, as the son of Ravati Nandan Bahuguna, a village patwari. He studied in D.A.V. School and Messmore Inter College of Pauri Town. His higher studies was completed at Allahabad, Government Intermediate College. He founded the first "Students Parliament" in the college and was elected its "Prime Minister".
